Cupcakes

At the end of September I was asked by a good friend if I could make some cupcakes for her little girls 2nd birthday...  She wanted me to not make actual cupcakes, but muffins instead, banana nut muffins to be exact, then to put little monkey faces on top.  The muffins turned out good, (I guess, I'm allergic to banana's and walnuts, so I couldn't try them : ) I had so much fun making these little monkey faces!  I can't wait till someone else wants some monkey cupcakes or monkey muffins!!

Baby Shower Cake

Last night I was up until after midnight finishing a Baby Shower cake for  today..  It was for a really nice lady, who's daughter is in Gavin's class.  She wanted to surprise the girl (that the shower was for) with a cute cake.  She asked for something very pink and girlie.  I added two little baby girls on the top of the cake to represent twins!! It was a small cake for a small party, but still a lot of fun to make..

It's Twins!!

Topsy Turvy....

Topsy Turvy Cakes have always looked extremely creative and of course challenging to me!  Especially when you are asked to make one for the first time...  I'm thankful it was for some long time friends of mine..  Tonight I'm going to give you the step, by step (in pictures) of the first Topsy Turvy Cake I made.  Thank you to Alisha for making it one of  the most creative cakes I have made to date (per her design)..  It was a wonderful challenge which I was excited to be given the opportunity to do...

Topsy Turvy cakes are all about tricking people : )  it only looks like it's sliding, but really it's just a trick : )...  Hope you enjoy the pictures, I sure enjoyed making this cake, even though I was up till 5am the Saturday morning that it was to be delivered..  Now that's Love People, Love!!

Halloween

Since this is the month of  Pumpkins and Spooky Ghost, I thought I would post some pictures of a Halloween themed baby shower I had at my house 2 years ago..  I hosted a shower for my little sister Claire before she had her second little girl Finley..  Since Claire's Birthday is near the end of the month and her due date was close to the 31st, we thought it only fitting to have a  Halloween theme..  It was one fun shower to plan.  We made up silly games and had Spooky food and a Ghost cake to welcome the little Ghost!

Tiny's Cake

Also this weekend I had the privilege of making a cake for another dear friend that I have know all my life, Becky..  Her family planned a great 80th Birthday Party for her wonderful dad Tiny,(he has always been a special person to me, he is such a neat man, with a big heart)...  It was a fun cake, with many challenges...  We had to transport this cake over an hour to it's location..  The road was not straight or flat!!!  I think I counted 4 train tacks that we had to cross!!  I had to make sure I brought my "Cake Doctor Kit" because that cake sure needed some work when we got to Live Oak..  But believe it or not I didn't cry!!  Scott helped me keep it together.  We were able to fix the problems that the car ride caused and make it look good for a great man..  Thank you to the Family for having me and letting me make this special cake for Tiny!!  It's was fishing themed party and cake.  I really liked making the two men (Tiny and his brother Paul) I molded rice crispy treats and covered them in Fondant as well as the Boat.  Then I make a bunch of ducks out of gum paste and fondant as well at the cattails.  The trees were waffle cones that I cut and covered in buttercream. Hope you Enjoy.

Baby Shower Cakes

This weekend I was able to make a Baby Shower Cake for a dear friend of mine, Heather.  It was a Barnyard themed cake, the little animals were so much fun to make..
