Every little girl wants to be a Mermaid!!

 

Aowyn's 6th Birthday

      

 As I stated in my post about my son Gavin's Birthday cake, this year I let me children pick  whatever they wanted for a cake...  So my sweet little girl Aowyn turned 6 in July and this is what she asked for, "Mom I would love a cake with lots of sparkles, a Mermaid on it and a princess crown, oh and I would like it to be pink and purple please!!"  Of course I had to grant my little princesses wish!! 

This was a really fun cake to make, the mermaid and all the princess crowns were made out of 50/50 (gumpast, fondant) I can't wait to make another Mermaid cake!

Some More August Cakes!

As I stated in my last post, I love

Zagan's 5th Birthday Cake

making childrens cakes.  I have made my niece Zagan's Birthday Cakes since she was born.  This year she turned 5 and she asked for something with "Sparkles and a Crown!"  I didn't seem to have that
much time to complete her cake this year, but I was able to come up with something cute for a 5 year old little
princess!

Gavin's 9th Birthday

I really enjoy making Birthday Cakes for little  kids and some big kids as well : ) August was a busy cake month  for me.  My son's Birthday is in August so  this year I told my kids they could pick "Whatever" cake they wanted.  Sometimes it's fun having a mom that makes  cake's all the time, but it always seems like  I never have time to make my kids a "Cool Cake" for their Birthday's, they seems  to get my left over cake time : (  Not this year!!   My son  asked for a Dragon cake this year and  well this is the first Dragon cake I have made, so....

It was a lot of fun  to make, but took a long time.  I used over 500 fondant  circles to make the scales..  I still have some work to do

on my dragon skills...  Thanks for looking!
